• You can now specify 2 periods during which KIU will not attempt to launch any applications. This is useful for people who need some applications to quit for a certain period of time (e.g. a BBS application needs to quit when the computer communicates with other nodes to transfer mail). Read the new "KIU Scheduling" section in the manual.
• KIU can now restart your Mac at certain scheduled moments in time. This feature can for example be used to prevent memory fragmentation in your server.
• the initial launch of applications does not increase the 'number of launches before restart' counter.
• several bug fixes.
• documentation: how to use Quickeys and KIU to perform certain actions after an application is (re)launched
• reduced shareware fees.
Version 1.1 changes
• "Keep it Up ƒ" has been renamed "Keep It Up Items" in analogy to "StartUp Items"
• You now can also put aliases of documents in the KIU Items folder. On (re)launch of the application to which the documents belong, the specified documents will be opened. Beware not to put both an alias to an application and aliases to documents of that application in the KIU Items.
• You can now view the Keep It Up log file by selecting "Open Log File" from the file menu. This will launch TeachText and open the log file, so you must have TeachText (or localised equivalent for non-English systems) on your harddisk. This is done according to the new Macintosh philosophy of writing small specialised applications which are tied together by apple-events.
• the minimum number of launch attempts before restarting the computer is set to 1.
• You are advised not to put an alias of the "watched" applications in the Startup Items folder. Version 1.0 documentation stated the opposite.
